by Daniel Meurois (translated from the French by Catherine Malcolm and Anne Paulus)

Years after having introduced us to Jesus the Essene with his book “The Way of the Essenes”, in his recently published book “The Secret Life of Jeshua” Daniel Meurois sheds light on the entirely unknown story of Jesus the Egyptian.

With the mention of Egypt, we are of course reminded of the phenomenal civilization of the pharaohs, of their legendary creations and men.

Indeed, anyone having set foot on the land of Ra is sure to be impressed by the vestiges of what a visionary civilization created throughout millennia along the Nile River.

Yet, Egypt isn’t only “pharaonic”.  It is more than its sumptuous temples, pyramids and mummies.  Another more discreet face of Egypt lies out of the public eye, unspoken and unpublicized because far less sensational than the former, but also because upon closer look, it reveals an inconvenient truth.

It is the Egypt of Jesus and therefore the land of the first Christians. Sadly, it is often overlooked because is it fascinating and also because it gives us a new and broader view of the very origins of the Christian Tradition.

What was Jesus’ Egypt like?

One might think the question is settled with the traditional claim that Egypt sheltered the Holy Family seeking to escape from the “Massacre of the Innocents”. But Christianity isn’t the only religious tradition claiming that the child Jesus lived on Egyptian soil.

To find out more about this, we need to look elsewhere and from another standpoint.

Many Christians have no idea that Islam not only respects the person of Jesus but states that the Holy Family is believed to have spent about three years in the land of the Pharaohs.

Islamic tradition also refers to a sojourn in Deir-el-Moharraq, 300km south of Cairo. There, Jesus is said to have manifested the first signs of his thought destroying idols and producing springs and miraculous trees…. Such phenomena could obviously not be attributed to a newborn infant.

Going back to the Massacre of the Innocents… this historical event can hardly be traced back to Jesus’ early childhood. Several researchers believe that the collective massacre attributed to Herod is in fact the transposition of another similar massacre having occurred centuries earlier.  Thus, there would have been no “escape to Egypt” but rather a period spent there completely voluntarily.

But for what purpose? To understand, we need to abandon the old trodden paths … We were always told that between Moses’ and the Pharaohs’ people, an ancient enmity persisted and we took that for granted. But was that really so?

This line of questioning is what incited me, over several years, to pursue my own research into the discreet and eventually hidden life of Jesus.  Even though I am no historian History interests me, especially when it allows for a better understanding of what lies in our collective unconscious memories and when it can help bring people together in spite of political and religious influences.

As you know, my investigative tool is the consultation of the Akashic Records.  Thus, according to the Memory that they constitute, I now wish to share with you some of my discoveries as well as topics for reflection.

  • IN DENDERAH with ASTROLOGER-PRIESTS

First, it’s important to note that the Holy Family wasn’t made of just Mary, Joseph and Jesus still a baby, but that it also included the sons of Joseph of an earlier marriage as well as several notable members of the Essene Fraternity.

What was the purpose of their trip to Egypt? To confirm with utmost certainty the identity of the soul living in the body of the one who would become Jesus, and have this identity authenticated officially.

Their major stop appears to have been the Temple at Denderah. The oldest “portrait” of Jesus discovered in a tomb in Egypt.

This is where the Memory of Time was most eloquent…

Today, this temple is known for its Zodiac showing the constellations in a different position than what we know today, a particularity that suggests that the Earth’s axis shifted at some point in its history.

The prime position in this temple is held by the goddess Nut who personifies the celestial dome and the mother of Isis and with whom she is sometimes confused.

A careful visit through the temple halls shows on the ceiling of one of them a three-dimensional representation of this goddess presenting a gaping hole at the base of her body as if to clearly emphasize her maternal aspect. Indeed, ancient Egyptian tradition asserts that Nut gave birth to all the stars in the firmament. Echoing this fact, the Denderah sanctuary was devoted to childbirths.  One of its adjacent buildings was reserved for difficult pregnancies and deliveries.  For ancient people, medicine and religious tradition were closely connected so that astrologist priests and mystics endowed with psychic abilities officiated there together.

This is where Joseph and his family were heading, and where they received confirmation that the newborn they brought with them was indeed what the Orientals call an Avatar: a realized Master invested with a divine mission. Finally, it was there that Jesus was recognized as a reincarnation of Zoroastre (1).  It was under this title that he was later enrolled in the Essenian monastery of Krmel.

It appears that at the time, no one felt the need to dig deeper into his ancestry. In any case, nothing was made public, even among the most initiated circles. I would only add that in the minds of those priests who realized his identification, Jesus-Zoroastre was undoubtedly linked to the Great Himalayan Fraternity that we call Shamballa, but whose current name can never be disclosed. This recognition followed a certain number of tests to which the young boy was submitted, something akin to the Tibetan Buddhists’ procedure for recognizing a “tulku”.

  • ESSENIAN FRATERNITY AND EGYPTIAN TRADITION

On this occasion, important ceremonies were held in Denderah, which was called Niten-Tor at the time.  Here it was decided that the future Jesus would be “taken in” by priest instructors. Therein lies the main reason for the prolonged stay of the Holy Family on Egyptian soil.  Jesus spent his very first years there in an environment that was fully conscious of Who he was and entirely dedicated to his preparative instruction.

We might wonder how such a young child attracted so much interest, but it is an established fact that throughout the ages and across cultures the greatest Avatars manifested aptitudes unrelated to their external appearance. Hence, they fascinated their surroundings.

One might find it surprising also that this first consecration and the education of he who would become Jesus would happen in Egypt rather than in Galilee or Judea.

Here again where we need to go a step further to realize that there was no split between the initiates of the Essene Fraternity and Egyptian tradition.

This can be easily understood when we consider that we are referring to the Egyptian tradition synthesized by the pharaoh Akhenaton and that it was later passed on to Moses and secretly safeguarded amidst those who would later become the Essenes.

Even though Akhenaton’s reforms were swiftly swept aside by his successors, the fundamental principles survived discreetly in some places and in certain communities.  This is how a connection was perpetuated between these two people, and a subtle Fraternity was preserved beyond borders and apparent antagonisms.  A Fraternity that was the result of a wish formulated by the Himalayan kingdom of Shambhala, to which Jesus’s consciousness is of course connected.

Let us not forget that the Krmel monastery was established by Amenophis III, father of Akhenaton, in a territory that was under his jurisdiction at the time. When Jesus resided there between his seventh and twelfth year, it was merely the logical pursuit of a path that had always been determined. The Essenian roots and those of the great Egyptian tradition are one and the same; they go back to the beginning of time…

  • IN THE NILE DELTA, THE PREPARATION

And what about the Coptic Christians’ claim that the Holy Family sojourned in various places along the Nile delta? I would say that the Akashic Records confirm this. After Denderah, Joseph and his family aligned themselves with the Fraternity’s wishes and lived in discreet places in the north of Egypt, mostly in “bethsaids” and small villages where priests who were skilled in working to prepare the young boy

lived. Some of these sites were caves that naturally served as sanctuaries and matrices provided by the Goddess-mother Isis, eternal Cosmic Virgin, whose Principle inhabited Mary with its breath.  This is likely what Islamic Tradition refers to when it speaks of the “first seeds

of Christianity”.

So the Akashic Records do not reveal any flight to Egypt nor any concealment. Rather, a preparatory phase that was not as discreet as we might think: Joseph was known to be the main priest of the Essenian Temple of Jerusalem while Mary held the office of “Guardian of the Flame” for the entire Essene Fraternity. Both were therefore highly respected figures. They formed a couple who lived simply yet not as poorly as we were always led to believe.

  • A SECOND VOYAGE

What can we say about Jesus the Egyptian? That his relation to Egypt didn’t end in his boyhood; he made another trip to Egypt on his return from his long voyage to India and the Himalaya, just before his thirtieth year. He needed to salute former master teachers as well as take on a teaching role before returning to his native land in order to accomplish his destiny.  A logical route, and a logical step…

The Memory of Time clearly reveals that Jesus did in fact teach and officiate during this time in certain temples of the Nile delta.  This Memory gives access to the sight of a Community of Therapists who venerated the sun and lived not far from Alexandria, in a small village close to a cliff of white rock.  To this day, an archeological site remains there which to my knowledge can be visited.

  • INSIDE THE GREAT PYRAMID

Thus, there can be no doubt that Jesus returned to Egypt after leaving Asia and before regaining Galilee.

Moreover, the Annals show that during this period, he made lengthy out-of-body visits to Luxor, to the temple undergrounds where many of the energy-based therapeutic methods and treatments had been gleaned and structured under the reign of Amenophis III.

More importantly, the annals show him on the Giza Plateau, in the Great Pyramid, for it was indeed in the royal chamber of this pyramid that the Christ Consciousness came to inhabit him, thus initiating the impact of His radiant Force even before his Baptism in the Jordan River.

  • THE GREAT INITIATORS OF HUMANITY

Taking all of this into account, what is remarkable is Church’s heavy silence around the presence of Jesus in Egypt. People will tell me that there are few historically credible elements to go on and that canonical gospels are not very informative; that Copts are dissidents as far as Rome is concerned and that more importantly, testimonies like mine have absolutely no value.  The truth is that this silence – or this negation – can essentially be explained by the fact that Jesus has become the exclusive property of one specific interpretation of the Christ’s thought, i.e. Rome’s interpretation.

In reality, this silence or negation is essentially explained by the fact that Jesus became the near exclusive property of a certain interpretation of Christian Thought, that of Rome.  The “owners” in question claim to have the monopoly over knowledge of “Who” Jesus really was and What he accomplished.  The “character of Jesus” as we are told he was – that is, fully Christ from the beginning –rapidly became a “registered trademark” of the roman Church that affirms that Jesus only ever knew the soil of Palestine.

We were therefore made to believe that the Christ “invented” His teaching ex nihilo and that before Him, there was apparently nothing that could lead humans to Awakening.

That his role was crucial, I say it as loudly and clearly as I can… but to say that he created a break from everything existing before him, I cannot agree.

He is enshrined in the lineage of the great solar Initiators of Humanity.  He embraced this lineage for all the beauty it offered, because nothing can be built from nothing. That he magnified it there is no doubt, and I personally do all I can to bring testimony to this fact. But but His persona and actions are part of the continued manifestations of the great Divine Plan being written on Earth for millions of years.

Being incapable of conceiving or recognizing that Jesus had strong ties with Egypt will soon become a quarrel of the past, just like the obstinate refusal to acknowledge his long voyage to India and the Himalayas.  It is a quarrel based on a somewhat absurd pride that has no place in an authentic mystical quest that cannot be subject to dogma or tendencies.

  • THE CHRIST ESSENCE

The quest for the Christ Essence – which we find present in all the great Traditions – won’t ever come through theological debates with all-too-temporal motives.  It will remain foreign to a strictly historical approach, because History and the texts on which it is based are manipulated in keeping with political factions and philosophical persuasions.  The quest for Christ can only be quenched by direct experience.

This is the path of going beyond inner boundaries and the inherent partisanships they foster. The Word and Gaze of Christ inhabiting Jesus that reconciliate are never exclusive to any culture. They are claimed and recognized by all of them.

I have at times written “Jesus the Egyptian” as naturally as “Jesus the Essene”. If tomorrow I were to write “Jesus the Hindu” or even “Jesus the Soufi”, it wouldn’t bother me at all.

His Spirit, as the Gnostics said, converges in the One because it goes beyond the Two.

“If you make the two – ONE- you will become the Son of Man”, states the gospel of Thomas (3).

It’s time to understand this on another level than just mentally.
